Lost in Translation

Last night was movie night and we watched "Lost in Translation". I would agree that the movie was well made and the parts were well acted. But this movie left me feeling cold and sad. The two main characters who both seemed to be in loveless dead end marriages and seem to just drifting where ever the currents of life take them. The eventually bounce into each other. The third main character in this movie is the City of Tokyo which appears as a paradox of a place this both full of life and yet has no real sole....at least not one the main characters can relate to. You see and here snippits of the spouses of the two main characters which make you realize how miserable the the characters are. Even though its wrong you almost want these two to get together. But they are both just trapped. Trapped in thier marraiges, trapped in Tokyo, trapped in realities that just don't really matter to them anymore. After watching this I realized agian for the umpteenth time just what a difference God has made in my life.
