A Long Awaited Top 5ish List

Well I have been reading everyones top 5 - 10 lists for last year. So I decided to compile my own list of cds from last year....I know that the whole two of you that read this have been waiting with baited breathe to see my list. So I will not prolong your suffering.

I have been going retro with my CD purchases last year...I really haven't been moved by much of the new music that has come out recently....at least not enough to buy it. So I will list out the music that moved me last year.

1. Rush In Rio - CD and DVD - yet another live offering from the greatest rock band of all time. This has been my most watched and listened to musical offering of last year. Watching Neil Peart's drum solo alone is enough reason to view this offering.

2. AC DC - Back in Black - Ok I know...I know...don't say it...This was one of the first albums I latched on to when I first got into music. I was walking through BestBuy and saw it...and I just had to listen to it agian. This album still really rocks...it's just this visceral primal scream music....it is awsome driving fast on the interstate music.

3. Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run - Another oldie...nothing flashy about this CD its just great straightforward rock n roll....stripped of all of its commercial flash and hype. I think there are a lot of bands that would learn a lot from listening to this classic.

4. Bob Marley and the Whailers - Legend - I rediscovered classic this after watching a special on VH1. You just can't listen to this and be in a bad mood. This CD has such power and passion. I really love it.

5. The Best of The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem - Ahh..rebel music and drinking songs.... its and Irish thing...if I have to explain, you wouldn't understand.

There it is...the long awaited top 5 list....I hope it was worth your wait. Of course if you waited a long time for this you really need a hobby or something.
