I am tired today.....not tired in the physical sense. I am emotionally tired. I am tired of all of the mudslinging...all the name calling...all the political bickering......the lack of civility in our culture.....I am tired. I am frustrated with everyone wanting to label everything and everyone. Why can't I just be a person.....not a white person.....not a fat person...not a mega or micro church attender.....not a liberal or conservative person. I just want to be person.
Why can we as a culture not discuss political issues without resulting to name calling or bashing each other. Why is it everytime I turn on the news I always see the talking heads constantly trying to talk over and belittle each other....more concerned with tearing down the other person and beliefs instead of actually trying to come to a consensus on the issue.
Why are we so quick to level the charge of racist, bigot, homophobe, bleeding heart, baby killer, whore, drunk, crunchy, stuffy, conservative, liberal. why is it so hard for us to see that there is a person there we are talking about or talking too.....a real person with thier own thoughts and desires and dreams....a real human being.....just like us.
